Icons that are slowly disappearing. A six sided barn in Ionia, Iowa was torn down several years ago which I think was too bad--a part of history that is now gone and will never be replaced. You have a nice piece of history here and I thank you so much for sharing.

I'm glad you were inspired to photograph this great example of pioneer architecture. I am reminded of the octagonal Nordheim Shooting Club hall in Nordheim, Texas where I attended many family reunions as a child.

Dawn, thank you...these barns were the result of practical engineering so that the animals could be fed from multiple station plus these were the original geodesic domes...
